Job description:

Overall Job Purpose:

To plan and coordinate Process technical training activities and ensure that all trainers have the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities.

 

Specific Job Responsibilities:

Establish and achieve objectives that are responsive to Process Operations budgets, changes and other factors.
Managing, designing, developing and coordinating all training programs.
Communicating with managers to identify training needs and mapping out development plans for teams and individuals.
Lead Process operations training and development initiatives through hosting creative training events.
Market available training(s) to Process management and employees and provide necessary information about sessions.
Design and develop training programs (outsourced and/or in-house).
Choosing appropriate training methods per case (Instructor-led Training, E-learning, mentoring, on the job training, etc.).
Mapping out training plans and schedules, designing and developing training programs (outsourced or in-house).
Conduct orientation sessions and arrange on-the-job training for new hires.
Evaluate instructor performance and the effectiveness of training programs and provide recommendations for improvement.
Develop testing and evaluation procedures.
Conduct or arrange for ongoing technical training and personal development classes for staff members.
Prepare training budget for department or organization.
Ensure that the training strategies are effectively and efficiently implemented and in line with the organisational goals.

Experience required to perform in this job:

At least 5 years’ working experience in a Mineral Processing Plant.
Copper/Nickel Mining industry experience preferred.
At least 3 years’ experience as a Trainer/Assessor in Process Operations.

 

Qualifications:

Full grade twelve (G12) school certificate.
Minimum of Degree in Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering, Mineral Processing or any related field.
Minimum of Diploma in Training and Development or related field (Teaching Methodology or equivalent).
Training professional registered with TEVETA is an added advantage
