we are now seeking to recruit qualified, professional, and experienced staff for the position of School Administrator to be based in Ndola.
The individual will be responsible for keeping and interpreting our financial records, ensuring that our financial records are compliant with the relevant laws and regulations, and preparing and filing accurate tax returns that meet all legal standards. He/she will also help, using their knowledge of tax laws, to increase savings and avoid penalties.
Duties:
1. Develop and implement school policies, programs, and procedures.
2. Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring the smooth functioning of all departments.
3. Foster a positive school culture and learning environment.
4. Ensure compliance with educational standards and regulations.
5. Hire, train, and evaluate teaching and non-teaching staff.
6. Provide guidance, professional development, and mentorship for faculty and staff.
7. Resolve staff conflicts and maintain open lines of communication.
8. Monitor student performance, behavior, and welfare.
9. Handle student discipline and implement strategies for academic improvement.
10. Foster a safe and inclusive environment for all students.
11. Work with teachers to develop and enhance curriculum and teaching methods.
12. Ensure that the curriculum meets academic standards and adapts to changing needs.
13. Organize and oversee standardized testing and assessments.
14. Prepare and manage the school’s budget.
15. Allocate resources efficiently, including for staffing, facilities, and programs.
16. Oversee tuition fees, scholarships, and other financial matters.
17. Maintain open communication with parents, students, and staff.
18. Act as a liaison between the school and external stakeholders, including the community and education authorities.
19. Promote the school through marketing, public events, and engagement initiatives.
20. Ensure that the school complies with safety regulations.
21. Develop and implement emergency response plans.
22. Oversee the maintenance of school facilities and ensure a clean, safe learning environment.
23. Work with the school board or trustees to develop long-term goals and objectives.
24. Implement strategies for school growth, improvement, and sustainability.
25. Conduct regular evaluations of the school’s progress toward its goals.
26. Maintain accurate student and staff records.
27. Prepare reports on school performance for internal and external review.
28. Ensure the proper management of admissions, attendance, and graduation data.
29. Ensure the school follows all relevant laws, policies, and educational regulations.
30. Address legal matters related to the school, including employment and student issues.
31. Stay informed about changes in educational policies and update school practices accordingly.
Candidates wishing to be considered for the position must possess the following minimum qualifications:
Educational Requirements
1. Minimum bachelor’s degree in education, administration, or any related field.
2. Teaching Certification and License will be an added advantage.
Experience
1. At least 5 years’ experience in a leadership role.
2. Prior experience as department head, headteacher, senior teacher, or academic coordinator, experience in school operations, budgeting, staff supervision, and policy implementation, and teaching Experience is an added advantage.
Skills and Competencies
1. The ability to lead staff, manage student issues, and set the vision for the school.
2. Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with staff, students, parents, and the community.
3. Ability to make informed, strategic decisions for the school’s academic and operational success.
4. Managing multiple responsibilities, including scheduling, budgeting, and ensuring compliance with regulations.
5. Quick thinking and effective problem-solving skills, especially in handling conflicts and emergencies.
6. Familiarity with educational technology, school management software, and data analysis tools.
