Job description:

Overall Job Purpose

To achieve a saleable concentrate while minimising tails losses, keeping the slurry contained, keeping people free from harm and protecting the equipment.

 

Specific Job Responsibility

Undertake any ad hoc or non-routine requests assigned by your supervisor
Follow in full, the cleaner circuit operating strategy and setpoints as advised by the flotation metallurgist.
Ensure the flotation circuit is shut down safely and quickly without spillage. Ensure the circuit is ready for subsequent re-start.
Complete operating checks according to instructions given by the supervisor and deliver to the supervisor prior to end of each shift.
Communicate issues that will affect the Rougher Flotation Operator.
Escalate for advice and/or approval when needed.
Complete shift handover.

 

Job Specific Competencies

Defend the sumps from spillage.
Inspect the circuit regularly and report all spillage and leaks.
Slow or stop operations if slurry goes outside the bund.

Experience required to perform in this job

The Cleaner Flotation Operator will require knowledge, skills and experience in the following areas:’

Minimum one year of cumulative experience in three other sections of the operating plant, inclusive of grinding and concentrate treatment.
Total of two years processing operations experience, preferably in copper.

 

Qualifications

Grade 12 Certificate.
Diploma in Metallurgy or Chemical Engineering is preferred
