Mumbwa Child Development Agency (MCDA) is a registered local non-governmental organization operating in the Mumbwa and Shibuyunji districts of Central Province, Zambia, since 2005. The organization is dedicated to supporting deprived, excluded, and vulnerable populations, particularly children, youth, and women.

The organization would like to recruit an outstanding, result oriented and self-motivated and versatile individual of high integrity with the appropriate qualifications and experience to fill up the position of Monitoring and evaluation Coordinator.

The Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Coordinator will be responsible for the overall implementation of a comprehensive Monitoring and Evaluation, and Knowledge Management system that supports all monitoring processes, quality control and evaluation in order to improve internal processes and results delivery in the catchment area.

The roles of the M&E Coordinator include liaising with Mumbwa Child Development Agency (MCDA) staff in developing monitoring and evaluation plans and methodologies, including development of appropriate data collection tools, and oversee quality implementation of M&E activities to meet MCDA, ChildFund Zambia and International standards; i.e. coordinating the development of the projects’ Performance Monitoring Plan (PMP)

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Monitoring and evaluation

Main Activities

Monitor and report all program activities to the Manager
Ensure preparation and submission of all M & E monthly, quarterly and annual reports
Participate in all program designing activities
Support in various research projects/impact evaluation studies.
Support implementation of qualitative data collection and entry (e.g. baseline data collection)
Support the production of all project progress reports
Ensure all data collection exercises are done according to schedule
Ensure all collected data is analyzed and the information utilized during projects development
Coordinate the developing of all data collection plans, methodologies and tools
Oversee the quality implementation of all M&E activities to meet MCDA and donor M&E standards.
Perform 10 regular field visits monthly
Ensure all Monitoring reports and developed and filled
2. Technical Support/Capacity Building to Federation staff

Participating in quarterly community meetings
Collect community program challenges and recommendations and plan with community during the quarterly meetings
Conduct all M & E trainings and workshops for the board and staff
Review and analyze all monthly reports
Grants Acquisition/Management
production and submission of proposals to ChildFund and other partners
Support the monitoring and implementation of all the acquired grants
Conduct intelligence gathering for grants

Qualifications and experience:

A recognized professional Degree in Demography, Public Health,
Development Studies, or any equivalent or related field. A diploma in M&E will be add advantage
A minimum of 4 years’ experience in M & E operations, and Resource Mobilization
Previous experience working with NGO donor contracts and compliance framework
Demonstrated familiarity with accounting standards and donor compliance requirements (allocable, allowable and dis-allowable cost principles)
Knowledge of computer application software for managing an M&E programme.
Possess sufficient knowledge of excel, power point and access computer program applications for launching and holding M&E data.
Possess a thorough knowledge of research and trends in M & E.
Demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively with children and adults.
Ability to utilize agency resources, technology and library to appropriately answer questions and provide guidance to staff and parents on M&E issues.
Ability to collaborate with and have working knowledge of local community resources related to data collection tools and processes.
Ability to communicate (verbal and written) effectively and appropriately with others;
Core competencies:
 Solid knowledge of office procedures
Proficiency in office management software like MS Office (MS Excel and MS Word, specifically)
Strong organization skills with a problem-solving attitude
Attention to detail
