1. SUMMARY OF THE JOB JOB PURPOSE
To provide technical support to ChildFund staff, partners and communities in the appraisal, planning, design, implementation, management, monitoring and evaluation of ChildFund supported education programs. This will ensure that all education related programs conform to the CSP guidelines and outcomes.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
(MAIN DUTIES)
Remain alert and responsive to any child safeguarding risks, acquire relevant knowledge and skills which will enable you to promote strong safeguarding practices, understand the child safeguarding policy and procedures, and conduct yourself in a manner consistent with the Child Safeguarding Policy.
PROGRAMMING Provides technical input in development and scaling-up of program models in education programs at national and program area level to ensure conformity to Country Strategic Plan outcomes.
Liaises with M&E Manager in designing the Monitoring, Evaluation and Research tools of all ChildFund supported education programs.
Ensures that monitoring and review of the programs is done on a regular basis and in collaboration with implementing partners.
PLANNING AND BUDGETING Provides technical input in the development of Strategic Plans within ChildFund and ensures input into action plans for education interventions in all program areas in line with the organisation’s strategic direction.
Monitors expenditure of all education related grants to ensure conformity to budgets and to ensure optimal use of resources.
NETWORKING & RESOURCE MOBILISATION Lead the process and provide technical support in proposal development/grant acquisition efforts at National, Area and community level related to education opportunities.
Provide insights into donor mapping and intelligence gathering on all education related opportunities for in country and Mult-country opportunities.
Establishes partnerships and linkages with NGOs and government entities to increase resource mobilization and long-term sustainability of local programs
CAPACITY BUILDING Establishes in-house networks to enhance integration of learning across the organisation.
Conducts awareness and training programs regularly for all staff, volunteers, board members, and community workers about protection of children in ChildFund programs.
Identifies latest trends in education programs and cascades these to implementing partners and other stakeholders in order to improve service delivery of all education related programs
COMMUNICATION & DOCUMENTATION Documents achievements and best practices in programming for internal and external circulation
Compiles periodic impact assessment reports and provide recommendations for management actions to Managers in technical areas.Responsible for formulation and implementation of policies, procedures, and relevant documents for proper management of projects and programs.
OTHER DUTIES As assigned by Program & Sponsorship Director.
QUALIFICATIONS University degree in education and related field is required.
Post-graduate degree is preferred. Knowledge in teaching methodologies and Early Childhood Learning (ECE) programming is added advantage.
At least five years work experience in project design and evaluation, networking, formulation and development sector specific policy direction, resource mobilisation, documentation and replication of best practice, establishment and implementation of standards of accountability, effectiveness and efficiency in the sector, and coordination of capacity building at relevant levels is required.
