1. MAINTENANCE PLANNER X 1 – LUMWANA SITE

Position Description

This position reports to the Maintenance Superintendent. The successful candidate will be responsible for the following duties:

Responsibilities

Ensure that safety protocols and all safety, health, and environmental requirements are met.
Ensure that the requirements of the Project Management Plans are adhered to and implemented.
The assistant planner should be able to show that maintenance issues are not affecting operations/production or causing other losses or delays.
Ensure that equipment downtime is within limits.
Ensure that maintenance costs are not spiraling out of control.
See a reduction in unplanned/breakdown work and an increase in planned/preventative maintenance planner starts working.
Conduct time inventory planning for spare parts.
Backlog management:
Manage the work order backlog system so that work is planned and scheduled based upon priority and is undertaken prior to equipment failure.
Develop detailed scopes of work for future planned work schedules (weekly, shutdowns, annual plans) that improve resource effectiveness.
Develop integrated maintenance schedules of work that optimize equipment downtime and resource utilization.
Develop equipment availability forecasts based upon planned work.
Update Master Data in the system with equipment.
Develop and issue work management KPI’s and improvement plans.
Develop, implement, and maintain safe work procedures and promote high safety and health awareness. Promote and comply with the Occupational Health & Safety Policy.
Be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the team.
Ensure appropriate facilities, procedures, and workforce competence to achieve legal compliance, incident prevention, and the achievement of tasks in an environmentally sustainable manner.

Qualifications, Knowledge & Experience

Degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized university.
Member of the Engineering Institution of Zambia.
Minimum two (2) years of mining experience in planning function focused on either mobile fleet or fixed plant.
High levels of competency in maintenance planning, integrated scheduling, backlog management, shutdown management, budget development, asset master data, maintenance KPI reporting, and continuous improvement techniques.
Competent in asset strategy development and life cycle costing.
Competent in supporting processes such as contracts, procurement, rotables management, spares management.
Must have been a supervisor for at least 3 years.
Must be able to read, understand, and reference maintenance manuals.
Medium level competency in budgeting tools.
Must have a valid driver’s license.
Minimum 5 years’ experience in maintenance planning and scheduling of mobile equipment in the Mining environment.
2. MAINTENANCE COORDINATOR-HER X 1 – LUMWANA SITE

Position Description

This position reports to the Maintenance Superintendent. The successful candidate will be responsible for the following duties:

Responsibilities

Manage, organize, and control an efficient mechanical engineering workshop, including the management of Technicians.
Allocate the work daily to the Mechanical Technicians, monitoring progress and inspecting completed work to ensure the required standards are achieved.
Provide a mechanical engineering advisory service to clients.
Ensure all lifting gear and workshop equipment are maintained to the highest possible standard.
Manage the administration of the mechanical workshop. Ensure all logbooks and departmental records are effectively maintained to enable stock control, ordering of parts, and all other workshop functions to operate efficiently.
Work within the Workshop regularly to retain/update mechanical skills and knowledge.
Be prepared to step in and assist Mechanical Technicians in times of emergencies and undertake on-the-job training with Mechanical Technicians should it be required.

Qualifications, Knowledge & Experience

Grade 12 certificate.
Degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized university.
Member of the Engineering Institution of Zambia.
Five years experience in mechanical works on heavy-duty machines, including heavy trucks and similar.
Computer literate.
Strong technical competence.
Strong leadership and organizational skills.
Good written and oral communication skills.
Good communication skills in English.
3. COST CONTROLLER X 1 – KALUMBILA SITE

Position Description

This position reports to the Chief Financial Officer and General Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for the following duties:

Responsibilities

Work closely with Chief Financial Officer and General Manager as part of the management team to ensure the corporation is focused on budgeted numbers and be a key partner in delivering business objectives, including but not limited to variances of revenue.
Manage cash requirements, liaising with the Chief Financial Officer to minimize on-hand cash and maximize investment returns.
Ensure tight cost control and management of all costs in the P&L.
Coordinate and review monthly management financial reporting package, KPIs, and take appropriate action to drive improvement.
Oversee and resolve any issues or concerns to the local general ledger and related accounting practices, including payables, receivables, inventories, fixed assets, payrolls, and balance sheet reconciliations.
Prepare and assist with appropriate commentary or explanations relating to report items of particular interest and conduct any pertinent investigation of the accounts.
Work with departmental heads/managers to manage the site annual budget.
Drive a focus on optimizing cash flow throughout Kascco Kalumbila Site.
Work with Operations team to ensure KPIs for efficiency and utilization are kept up to date, understood, and used appropriately to drive corporate financial improvement.
Coordinate forecast and planning schedules for finance.
Participate in the Project discussions for the business by reviewing, monitoring, and advising.
Drive continuous improvement of accounting systems and internal controls, including documentation of local processes.
Assist the statutory audits and liaise with the auditor as needed.
Any other delegated responsibilities as instructed by Line Management within the timeframe specified in a safe and efficient manner to meet business requirements, provided the instruction is reasonable.
Provide effective leadership in controllership in accordance with the company’s values, goals, and objectives.
Ensure compliance of the organization’s practices with applicable legislation and tax authorities.
Expert knowledge in SAGE Accounting package.

Qualifications, Knowledge & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, CA Zambia Graduate Business Route/CIMA, commerce, or related field.
Ability to adapt to different situations and organize priorities autonomously to meet deadlines.
Minimum 3 years’ experience in Mining environment.
Good experience in accounting and cost control.
Preferable on-site experience in the resources sector.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
