Electrical Engineer

ELECTRICAL ENGINEERS

JOB PURPOSE
To design, develop and maintain electrical systems for buildings, transport systems and power
distribution networks. To design and implement electrical systems and make improvements to
electrical systems and control equipment.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Designing and implementing electrical systems
Scheduling electrical construction and maintenance projects
Reviewing electrical engineering plans, specifications and reports
Conducting tests and inspections of electrical systems and equipment
Collaborating with engineers and technicians
Repairing and performing quality control of electrical equipment
Providing electrical engineering support to the assigned projects
Providing technical leadership to employees and contractors

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Full Grade 12 School Certificate with five (5) O levels passes
Minimum of a Degree in Electrical Engineering
Minimum of 3 years of experience as an electrical engineer and electrical systems design
Fully Registered with the Engineering Institute of Zambia
Familiarity with electrical systems and equipment
Understanding of electrical engineering safety standards
Strong computer skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong problem-solving skills
Strong interpersonal skills
Ability to prioritize tasks
Highly developed attention to detail
Strong multitasking skills

REQUIRED COMPETENCES AND PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES

Good analytical and strategic thinking skills
Must have the ability to perform high quality work in a timely and efficient manner
Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
Proven knowledge of engineering design software and equipment
Ability to design, implement, install and maintain electrical systems
Excellent analytical skills
Outstanding written and oral communication skills
Attention to detail
Knowledge of electronic engineering codes
Ability to write technical reports and documentation
